I have posted on MDC about the possibility of becoming a living kidney donor earlier this season. I got back an important test result today that shows rejection being unlikely and we can move forward with doing the surgery!!! They still have to do a kind of psych. evaluation and take some ct scans, but I am SO excited to be a match for my recipient. I just had to share the news!!!!!! ( I've decided not to tell most people I know besides close family and friends, so this is my way of sharing, )

awesome!! congrats!  my bil had his kidney transplant just over 3 years ago (sister donated) and he is doing great.

Thanks! That's awesome about your bil. The more I talk to people about donation, the more I find out how many people have done it. I was surprised by how many people I know even have had a family member or friend give or receive an organ.
