long john question

I'm looking for long johns for DH, who works outside all winter. Do you think it's better to do just wool, or a wool/silk blend? Does plain wool hold up better? If I go with the blend, is it the same as wool in the respect that it doesn't need to be washed often? Can I use my wool soap on the blend? Thanks! I know he's going to love either one.

I would personally get wool just because 100% wool is warmer than the blend.  BUT, if the wool is at all itchy, or your hubs has sensitive skin, I'd got with the blend because it is a bit smoother.

I got it from green mountain organics. They were having a sale, but I think it's over now :(.
