Please help wise Mamas!  My month old ds has an eye infection, please tell me there are natural things I can do for it, I would hate to give him antibiotic drops :(  Any proven natural remedies for this?

Thanks!

You can put breast milk in his eyes every time he nurses that can help. But if you dont see improvement pretty fast you will have to use the drops since it could damage his eyesight if you dont. hug.gifgoodvibes.gif luck and hope the breast milk does the trick.

I agree that you should try breast milk. Also you could gently rub from the inner corner of the eye down along the nose (with clean hands, of course). Both of my kids had clogged tear ducts & that helped. I put my milk on all of my kids' boo-boos. A few drops of echinacea tincture twice a day orally might help too. Good luck!

I third the breast milk!  When DD was a month old, I took her to the dr because her eye looked so horrible (plus a rash but that turned out to be dairy related)

He gave me an Rx and said get it right away but I was unable to go to the drugstore till the next morning. So I put breast milk on it 2-3 times that day and by the next morning it was almost gone! She had to go back to the dr the day after that and he said wow, those drops worked fast, lol

What I did was pump a bottle and then took a washcloth and washed her eye with it. I was gently massaging at the same time.

Hope it gets better soon!
