Hi, Snapdragon! I'm not quite sure what you're asking specifically. Do you mean how the discussions are formatted? If you mean the format, yes, this is our new look. 

We're still discussing the coloration of the posting area with Mothering's designers, and we're working to improve upon the site and bring more features, a few new forums and functionality that we think members will enjoy. We're discussing the ability to have user-selected skins again, but this would be more of a long-term project if it happens.  

I hope that everyone will start feeling more comfortable as we all find our way around and get more familiar with the new layout. We appreciate your support and participation!

While you're deciding on whether to add user-selected skins, can't you just make the background a different color (anything but white, but I vote for tan) for everyone?  Are there actually any people that enjoy reading on a white background?

As a former Tan devotee, I completely understand the love of Tan! We've actually already darkened the posting area since the transfer, but it didn't make as much of a difference as we had anticipated. Please rest assured that we're working on this to make the viewing experience as user-friendly as we possibly can. I totally understand how difficult the stark white background can be on the eyes, especially for those of us who spend a lot of time here! We want the boards to be as appealing as possible while maintaining our site's overall color scheme.
