We are totorturing US Army Private Bradley Manning

This is ridiculous and insane. I don't care who you are, or what your politcs are, this is appalling. We are apparently holding US Army Private Brandley Manning in conditions which amount to torture. He has not yet been charged with a crime. And yet has been held in solitary confinment 23/24 hours a day for 7 *MONTHS* and counting. He is not allowed to excersize. He is allowed no contact w/ the outside world what-so-ever, even to current events. He does not have a pillow or sheets on his bed (despite having never been on suicide watch).

Are you sick yet? You should be. I am. I will be writing letters and calling people. I hope you do too. This is ridiculous. This is illegal. Anyone and everyone up and down the line who is ordering that this go on needs to be tried for torture. Up to and including Obama. This is BS. We aren't supposed to do this. WTF are we becoming?

He isn't a prisoner of war, he is a member of the US military that has basically admitted to acts of treason. The military has their own criminal justice system. Personally, I think he should be grateful he hasn't been convicted yet, since it can carry the death penalty ( which I don't support).  I certainly will not be writing anything in support of him as I consider him a traitor.  The author of the article seems to be confused on the differences between prisoners of war, The US civilian criminal justice system and the US military courts.

I don't think copywrite applies to documents on charges filed in criminal cases so I'm posting the entirety of the outlined charges. Also note that the investigation is ongoing.

Two charges consisting of 12 specifications were preferred. The first charge, under Article 92 of the UCMJ, is for violating a lawful Army regulation by transferring classified data onto his personal computer and adding unauthorized software to a classified computer system.

The second charge includes eight specifications under Article 134 of the UCMJ, incorporating violations of the United States Criminal Code. Those eight specifications consist of the following:

• One specification of violating United States Code Title 18, Section 793, for communicating, transmitting and delivering national defense information to an unauthorized source;
• Three specifications of violating United States Code Title 18, Section 1030(a)(1), for disclosing classified information concerning the national defense with reason to believe that the information could cause injury to the United States; and
• Four specifications of violating United States Code Title 18, Section 1030(a)(2), for exceeding authorized computer access to obtain classified information from a United States department or agency.
