DD is 8.5 months and has a number of chronic ailments (exzema, post-nasal drip, stomach issues, reflux, redness under the eyes) that have put me on high alert for allergies as I introduce her to solids.  She's never had a severe enough reaction to a food for me to really determine whether she's allergic, but I have suspected bananas and avocados of causing problems.  Yesterday she ate some cucumber spears for lunch (she scrapes of the seedy inner part) and that evening starting screaming and wouldn't stop.  I took off her diaper and she had a small amount of seedy poop and an intensely red, painful-looking bottom.  She acted strangely all night, crying and wriggling her bum around whenever she woke.  I thought cucumber was pretty innocuous.  Could it really have caused this reaction?  Also would appreciate any advice on figuring out the causes of allergy symptoms in infants.  Thanks!
