End of the Year Testers - 2WW

I thought I would start a thread for those of us testing the last week of 2010.  I had been hopeful that Christmas would be my testing day but I O'd 5 days later than the last cycle.

We are TTC #2 and this is our 3rd cycle (4th if you count my Vitex messed up cycle).  I am 1 DPO.  I am hoping the holiday festivities will make this 2WW a little less obsessive. ;)

I have a short LP and have been using NPC to lengthen it (mixed results this time although it was successful 6 years ago with DD).  I am adding B6 to the mix this cycle.

Hi!  Count me in for end of year testing, I think...  I should be O'ing this weekend which would mean I might be able to test on New Year's Eve!  What a better way to ring in the new year than with a BFP!!

hi,  i am currently 6 dpo, on my 3rd cycle of ttc our second. Really not enjoying this ttw!! having to talk myself out of testing, and its so stupidly early!!! 

hope my christmas wish will come true!! hope we all get our BFP for christmas!! x

I'll join the party.  I'm on CD 13, should O in the next day or so (hopefully soy doesn't length my cycle too much), so I would be able to test around New Years Eve.  That would be a nice late Christmas Present / NYE present

I guess I'm in too...  although I'm really not optimistic for some reason.  I'm 6dpo, AF is due on the 26th (at least it's not Christmas day!!!).

OTOH, I'll be in the Barossa Valley at that time ....  which I'm not sure is a good thing!!!  If AF turns up while we're there it'll be a fantastic thing (DH will have to roll me home... )

....  but if she doesn't show...  well....  it almost feels like a waste of a trip.  Hm.  

Oh, THAT'S right - we are actually going to visit friends...  not just for the wine....

If I make it to 12 DPO (short LP), I plan to test on the 28th since that will be exactly 6 years since I got my BFP with DD.  After that, I'll test daily until AF comes. :lol

I'll probably be here, but I'm not very optimistic. I was on the pill and had AF on Nov 3. I should have had it again on December 1st but I skipped that week of the pill and just started a new pack of pills to try and hold off AF (otherwise AF would have started during our honeymoon). But then AF started on Dec. 7th. DP and I decided to just stop taking the pill (last day of the pill was Dec 6th) and see what happens (we were going to stop the pill after this cycle and start TTC on our honeymoon anyway). So I have no idea what's going to happen with my cycle right now. I've been on the pill for 3 years plus I messed up with it this last month (trying to skip AF) and.... it's just all messed up. So I will probably test Dec 31st or Jan 1st (that's our wedding day ). Jan 1st would be day 25 of this cycle, but I have no idea when I'll O so.... yeah. No idea what will happen. LOL!

I think I'm going to Ovulate today!  WOOP WOOP!!  Got a ton of EWCM yesterday (out of left-field....I has been super sparse before then), and I got a super close to positive OPK yesterday at 4pm.  I'll take another one today, but I'm thinking that since I only take them once/day, I will most likely miss my ACTUAL peek LH surge, so I'm content with a nearly-positive 

We DTD 2 days ago, last night, and will again tonight and tomorrow.  DBF is taking maca, selenium, zinc, and Vitamin C to help boost his swimmers this month, and I'm taking my prenatal, fish oil, folic acid, grapefruit juice, green tea, and I took soy for days 4-8.  I think I will also use baby aspirin after I ovulate  This is our 5th cycle trying, and we're getting determined to make this work!

I decided I WILL test on NYE, so I can know whether I can have a couple drinks, or completely abstain.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for ALL of us, that we will have a great New Years.

ok, 7 dpo still really headachy? few twinges and pulling feelings, but other wise pretty quiet on the symptom side of things.

HopefullyMama: very exciting news! go get bding!! hope that you get your BFP this month! I did the same thing this month, i went for an 'almost positive' test, so i'm hoping we caught that egg?!!

                        also, i am pretty new to all these things you can take to boost your chances...Baby Asprin??? is that just a v. low dose of asprin??

I cannot decide when to test, last cycle i really thought we had done it, i was getting v. faint positives a few days before AF and felt so pregnant and then i started spotting and the witch came a few days later - i was kind of thinking that was a chemical... ?? never happen to me before??

earthmummy - Yep, baby aspirin is just "low dose" aspirin (81 mg) that they put people on who have certain blood disorders, heart disease, or inflammation issues.  It basically thins your blood, albeit not that much.  The reason I'm taking it this month is that I've had 2 chemicals (stupid word, in my opinion ) in the past 4 months, and apparently one common reason for early miscarriages is a small clot forming in the new-and-still-very-tiny placenta and associated blood vessels.  I don't know if this is my problem, and probably wont ever know for sure....but 81 mg of aspirin is pretty innocuous in my book, so it's worth a shot.  Most pain-relief doses are in the 200-250 mg range.

I am going to join you ladies, if you don't mind!  Dec 25th I will be 10dpo, but I wont test until 27th (unless AF shows of course)  DH and I are both 38 and have been trying for #2 since the beginning of April.  This October, after discovering how crazy irregular my cycles were, I was diagnosed with PCOS.  Metformin seems to be working well to keep my cycles more around the 32days rather than anything from 30-130days.  I have had one appt with a fertility specialist (last month about 3dpo) and all my blood showed I definately o'd then.  I seem to ovulate but the cycles were out of whack.  This cycle we bd 6d pre o (ewcm), 3d pre o and the day before (around midnight so could technically be day of).  The day of DH had to go out of town so that what the best we could do as 2d pre o I was feeling ill with a headache and abdominal/stomach cramping (not o).  So fingers crossed for this time!  DH agreed that if it doesn't work this time thenin the new year he will go in for a sperm analysis as according to the past 3 cycles at least we have timed bd with o.

It's unlikely that I'm pregnant, since we had unprotected sex either 3 or 4 days before ovulation, but the chance is there.  And I noticed a sign tonight (a different smell "down there" - sorry if that's TMI!) I seem to remember that happening with my first pregnancy, too.

I'll likely be testing on New Year's Eve.  New Year's Day is the expected date of menstruation, so we'll see.  Might be too early.

Hi I would like to join the thread. This is my first cycle TTC. I am not optimistic since we didn't, um, put much effort into making it happen this month. I also am not keeping track of things very well or rather at all. I don't know  when I O'd. I just watched for the EWCM which worked awesome last time (2 years ago!). SO who knows. I am thinking I will start testing on Xmas. It could happen! NExt month its nose to the grindstone!

Just 3 DPO here and not much to report minus creamy CM but that's not unusual anyway. So far the holidays have not helped keep my mind off the wait.  Maybe later in the week.

Hopefullymama: thank you for explaining, i think i might try that if i dont have any luck this month, i pretty sure i had a early miscarriage ( i agree 'chemical' sounds horrid!!) last month, i had about

4 faint BFPs then the next day BFN then spotting followed by major heavy AF... ??? So i am at the point now where i want to try other things to improve our chances. Now i am just terrified of taking

tests too early and having that horrible emotional rollercoaster ride again, i am doing well so far of not having the urge to poas!!! how long will it last!!

Hi! I'm 3DPO, and this is our first month trying, and I'm probably overly optimistic... Im assuming I'm pregnant until proven otherwise! The kids go to their paternal grandparents for a visit on the 29th, and I'll test while they're gone.

I'm joining! I'm 2 DPO and I'll test New Year's Eve. I'm currently taking Vitex, which is making my wait times longer.

'Hopefully Mama,' I've also had two chemical pregnancies this fall. Thank you for your explanation of the low dose aspirin; I think I'll try that too.

I'm a teacher so maybe it will help that my stress level will be lower over the next two weeks??

Hello. Hope it is ok that I jump in here. I am 5dpo after IUI.  I am a POAS addict, so I plan on testing out my trigger.  It has been a long road for us and I am really hopeful that this cycle works as I am not sure that I have it in me to continue if it doesn't.  This is our 6th cycle.  We did IUI with injectibles and this cycle we used both gonalF plus Menopur so I am more hopeful.  My E2 level was above 3000 the day of trigger, but I am over 40.  I am now just going crazy in 2ww!!!

Here I am 5dpo....feeling the same as each 2ww major tender breasts...a bit gassy but last night I was also having a few af like cramps....Fingers crossed it is early implantation cramps!!  Feel free to check out my chart.
