I found out that in rubber gasket of our HE machine, there is disgusting build up of brown and blank gunk. I have been washing poopy diapers without rinsing as others recommended. I did prewash diapers in the machine but the poopy diapers always come out with stains so I suspect that there is not enough water to clean off the poop. I'm now hesitant to wash poopy diapers in our machine without handwashing them, which disgusts me. Either I 'm thinking of switching to disposables or buy a top loader. Buying a top loader just for diapers and ditching almost new HE machine seems like a waste of money. Probably it's not just poopy diapers that cause gunk but I think it might contribute to more build up. I'm just not comofortable with poopy waters not draining well and ending up sticking to rubber. What do you think?

Washing poopy diapers cause gunk in HE machine?
When you say poopy diapers, are you referring to BM poop or solid poop? If it's solid poop, I would try dunking, plopping, spraying, or scraping it off into the toilet. I would never try putting poop straight into the washer unless it's BM poop. If it is BM poop, you should have no trouble putting it straight into the washer. So, what is your wash routine and detergent? Is it possible you're not using enough detergent and/or is it possible your wash cycle isn't effective?
Do you have a clean cycle on your machine? I have a FL'er and I wash my machine once/month (empty!) with a little bit of bleach on the "clean" cycle; it does the trick!

I checked and it looks like your baby is about 7 months so I'm guessing some solids. It's time to start using liners, spray off your diapers (diaper sprayer is way cheaper than replacing maching) or scraping the poop into the toilet. I tend to do all of them at the end of the day. It makes the bathroom smell more but it's a lot more convenient. Then I do a prewash in cold and a long hot wash. Once every few washes I'll run a second wash since I use a front loader too. Non breast milk poop will totally gunk a washer.

HE washers get that gunk regardless. I pull all the gasket (not just the first bit) back on mine every month and run a toothbrush dipped in bleach around it, then run an old white sheet through with more bleach on a sanitize cycle.
I used liners with my daughter's poo, and anything the missed the liner would sort of peel off the diaper and drop into the toilet (sometimes helped with a piece of toilet paper).
Recently I was at a friend's house and her HE washer is in the downstairs guest bathroom, I happened to look at it and the gasket and door were COVERED in black gunk, hair and mold. It was horrendous. She never owned a cloth diaper, so rest assured it is not directly related to poo.
