Breastfeeding DD taking taking benadryl can I take allery med

DD is 6 months old and taking Benadryl 3 times a day. I am having allergy symptoms: sneezing, watery eyes, congestion and couching. I think I get like this every year but just past it off as a common cold. Can i take anything OTC? Bioron allergy homeopath?

Thanks

Lucy

I would have no problem taking something homeopathic while nursing. It may also help your LO.

I would be cautious taking Benadryl or the like, because it might dry up more than you want dried up (especially if your LO is still nursing exclusively).

Are you taking the benedryl 3 times a day or your DD? Your post made it sound like your DD is taking it.....if that's the case, you might want to talk to your dr. about giving her something less sedating like zyrtec or allegra instead of the benedryl. Otherwise, nettles are great for allergies and are a natural treatment. I took something recently, I think it was called D-hist and it was a mix of nettles and some other ingredients. Worked like a charm for me!! Hope you get some relief!!
