My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

I don't have experience with a year round calendar, but I know that the schools which call themselves "year round" in my school district have a six week summer break and several 3 week breaks throughout the year. Most run some sort of day care during the 3 week breaks. I would imagine if they didn't this schedule would actually be harder for a lot of parents, especially those who work full time, because they would always be scrambling for some kind of child care arrangements.
My kids have to get up early during the school year and go to bed early, so they only are able to do one extracurricular thing during the school year. I appreciate the long break because we don't have to be on that strict schedule and also it gives them a chance to do a sport or other recreation that they wouldn't have time to do during the school year.

I went year round for two years in High School and I enjoyed it. We were on the A track which meant we had six weeks off during the summer and 8 weeks off during the winter. We had only 2 days of Spring Break and still followed the Federal Holidays.
