15 month old screaming!

Does anyone else have a 15 month old that screams or screeches when they want attention or they want them to get something? My DD was born Sept '09 and she does this. I don't want to ignore it at this age because, well, she's too young for that and wouldn't understand. But she is smart. She goes to the area where she wants something and screams. She does this a lot throughout the day. ugh. It's really frustrating. I remember going through it with my now 15 yr old son and it didn't last long but I really need advice on what others are doing. I don't remember what to do. :(

awww man, we were there a few months ago - i feel your pain (in your eardrums!)  For us nothing really worked, we just had to wait it out until she was able to start talking a little bit - she's 18 months now & doesnt really scream anymore - we just kept saying 'what do you want?' & encouraged her to sign or 'use your words".
