Anyone see it? I saw it last night with a friend - she thought the last half was alll Nina;s dillusion.   I don't.  Anyone want to talk about it?

I am very curious about this movie but am trying to decide if its too gory for me; hmmm maybe I'll see it during the day? LOL

Not sure if I should join in the discussion since I haven't seen it yet, but I have read all the spoilers so you can't ruin it for me (I'm a read-the-end-of-the-book first kinda gal LOL).  I see it as a dark psychological cautionary tale about how the quest for being perfect can ruin you.    This is an important topic to discuss so I hope the movie brings about many discussions on this.  Every now and then I will hear of a student killing themselves because of too much pressure (either self imposed or brought on by others) and it breaks my heart.  We are human and need to learn from our mistakes and allow ourselves to grow.  We need to forgive/be forgiven.

Other topics that this movie make me think of:  what if your son wants to be a NFL player, your daughter wants to be a world famous ballerina, your child wants to be an Olympian?  We want to encourage our children to develop their gifts and go after their dreams but what if those dreams destroy one's childhood?  What if a person gives their whole life to a dream but never makes it?  How do they cope?  Where is the balance between following ones dream, having a "back up plan", being satisfied that you gave it your all and believed in yourself and it was worth it, no matter the outcome?  Many have found a healthy balance, but some do not, I think this is a good topic to explore

Curious what others have to say about the movie and all that it makes them think of

Oh and to answer your ? (even though I haven't seen the film yet LOL):  I think they made it that way intentionally, to make you wonder if what Nina saw/did was real or in her mind, very clever!
