Leak proof water bottles?

Does anyone know of truly leak proof, BPA free plastic water bottles that will fit in lunch boxes?   I've tried the ones are Target but they leak.

I'm not interested in stainless because they are too expensive and my son keeps losing them at school.

Oh, I'm hoping to find new ones at a store that I can go to in person (instead of online.)

Thanks!

I do not trust BPA free plastics. It has taken 15 years since the first studies that showed BPA caused breast cancer and other health issues for the public to become informed and a consumer driven movement to get BPA out of our products. Whatever they have replaced BPA with is completely untested on humans and it will be decades before we begin to understand if it too has health repercussions. Petroleum products are toxic to humans. The plastic industry does not have human health in their interests.

In a perfect situation, I wouldn't use plastic.  But, glass isn't allowed and stainless is too expensive (especially since my son keeps losing them at school.)

this might sound crazy, but do you have any old baby bottles laying around? They are sturdy as all get out, and you can buy caps that go on most of them. I'm thinking of the glass even flo ones, but  know they make a bunch of cheap bpa free bottles as well.

Heck no, he gets made fun of as it is.  No way would I send him in with a baby bottle.  Not even one with a regular top to it.

Now that my son is switching to a small classroom, I think I feel better about buying another stainless bottle to send in.  Maybe he won't lose it since there will be more teachers in his class.

Thanks for all the replies!

SS bottles can be found for low prices nowadays. Look at the discount stores. We haven't paid more than $5 for one.

What we do when we don't want to risk losing a SS bottle is buy a regular bottle of water and reuse it until it gets banged up too much. DH does this for his bicycle rides because the SS bottles don't fit in his holder. I can get 16.9 oz Kirkland brand water for 10 cents at a local discount store.

I found a BPA free water bottle at Target (not in the kids section.)  I'm going to give it a try.
