Day 5....still ECing! :)

I decided to try EC very spur-of-the-momently, and I was a little afraid that I wouldn't be able to keep it up after the initial fun of it started to wear off...but here we are day 5 and we're still going strong! :)

Yesterday we bought a potty so that we have a place for him to go on both floors of our house, and this morning I caught a pee and a poop in the new potty!  Yay!  We've been diapering with disposables while we're out and about and when he sleeps, and at home we've been trying to do at least a couple of hours diaper-free, and when we're not up to that we're using prefolds with no cover.  So far we've caught at least one elimination per day!

Just wanted to share my success so far!

YA! Thats so exciting! The best thing about EC is that it is so laid back and you can do it sometimes or more often if you like. :) We started off doing it once a day or so then started full time. Now I am back at work so I EC part time. Its so great. I'll never go back to not using EC again. :)

So GREAT!  Good for you!

We started the EXACT same way as you (prefold w no cover at home, sposie out and about and over night, starting on a whim) and did (and still do have) the same general routine, although I'm making more of an effort to offer out of the house and at night if DS wakes up.  We started at 2.5 mos and DS is now 6.5 mos.  We went from a catch a day to having more and more frequent days with no misses (at home, and I don't count over night, but that's me!) and we've had 1 poop miss since the beginning of December.  I agree with PP.  I now couldn't imagine NOT doing EC!
