PROVERA AND CLOMID

Hello Ladies..

i have been TTC for almost 2 yrs. It's been a frasturating journey. I don't usually get regular periods..which means I do not ovulate regularly so it's been that much harder for me. My last cycle I was supposed to get my period around Oct 14th--it still didn't come and its Dec 18--been testing a few times and i never got a positive. My doc put me on provera--and i just finished my last pill. SHe had given me 5 pills for 5 days to push my period. I am waiting of my period to show up but it still didnt--but i did just finish my last pill yesterday 12/17/10 so im hoping any day now i get it. I have clomid waiting for me!!! lol It seems liek my period just does not want to show up. now that I finally got a slight solution..(hopefully a solution)--my period has been later than ever!!! Anyone in the same boat?

Just wanted to say, I feel your pain on the long cycles. Feel free to come join us on the long cycle mamas thread if you want to! I have taken provera before, years ago, when I went about 4 months with no period, but wasn't pregnant. My period did start the day after I finished the last pill if I remember right. Also, good luck with the clomid! I hope that's the solution for you!

Yep. Been there. The provera will probably work. I'm sure you'll get your period within 5 days or so. CLomid works AMAZING and I'm sure you'll conceive :)

Thanks BCBLONDIE---I just finished my last clomid pill..I was given 50mg days 5-9...i read some posts of peopel given different days..do you know why that is so?? Hopefully my days work out!! I know in one of the posts you mentoned 50mg didnt work for you,y ou had to be given a 100...did 100 work first try or you had to take it for a few motnsh?? Im so excited to see how this works...but im not getting my hopes up too much!

It varies per doctor and per situation I think. Taking it on days 5 to 9 is more likely to grow one giant follicle and one awesome egg. Taking it earlier, like 3 to 7 or even earlier, is more likely to result in more folicles of lesser quality. If you have trouble O'ing it would make sense to try to just make one really good folicle. If you generally O but can't seem to conceive, or maybe they think the O is weak, it might be benificial to do it earlier.

I o'd the cycle after my m/c, so this cycle I started right away on 100 but did it earlier, days 3 to 7. Because I have more faith in my body now, that it could O. So might as well have more folicles. :)

Yes, the 50 mgs didn't work. I barely o'd. 100 mgs is like the magic dose for me, I swear. In total I've done 6 cycles at 50, no conception. And 3 at 100, 2 conceptions. 0% success compared to 67% success. Lol.

I have high hopes for both of us this cycle :)
