Pumping emergency, help needed please!

OK so I thought maybe it was a fluke and that it would eventually go away but it is official, after 3 days of consistent results, I dont get milk when I pump.

I am still trying to get the boys to nurse at nearly every feeding and I had been pumping every 3 hours around the clock.  Well some nights I cheated and missed a pumping here and there but for the most part it was every 3 hours at LEAST around the clock.  I then developed a wicked mean case of thrush.  I am thinking I wasn't taking enough time between pumping to wash all the pump parts as completely as I should have been.  Finally the thrush got so bad that I went to pump and started pumping blood!

So for better or worse, I decided that my nipples needed a break and didn't pump for a few days and only hand expressed instead every few hours.  So I have been trying to get back to pumping for the boys and when I pump I get maybe 1 ounce total from both breast combined.  If I hand express I get between 3-4 ounces both breast combined.  What would make my breast suddenly not respond to the pump?  Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I am really really worried about this because the boys still have a really weak latch and from the way they are acting I am thinking it will be at least another month before they "get it" and we can go to nursing full time.

If my post sounds disjointed then my apologies I am trying to do about a dozen different things while I type this, today is a particularly busy day but I needed to get this post on here and try to get some help as soon as possible.

Thank you all.hug.gif

Sounds to me like the thing to do for you is probably to hand express unless/until you get the pump sorted out. I'm impressed you can hand express; I could never get the hang of it.
