Hey everyone!  I wanted to let you all know that I wrote a food allergy awareness book for children!  As you may know, my little guy Jack has multiple allergies and we've done a lot of work on his gut and are now utilizing homeopathy to continue that healing.  He is also speech delayed and when he started preschool I had a hard time (emotionally, psychologically, logistically) helping him to understand how to navigate uncontrolled food environments.  My search for the perfect children's book on the topic didn't go well, so what started as a "social story" for my little guy manifested into a book that I hope will help families like us.  See it here: Food Allergies and Me

If you have any questions on the contents just let me know.  It is newly listed and available now but some of the features, like the "look inside" and "about the author" etc won't be on there for a few more days.

Here's the book description:

Food Allergies and Me provides an engaging and relatable experience for children who are beginning to learn about and cope with food allergies.  Explore the life of a food allergic child as you follow Jack through a day of school, an allergist appointment, and the playground.  Young children will begin to understand the importance of identifying allergens, asking for help when unsure, and alerting an adult immediately should they experience symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Jack’s confidence demonstrates to the reader that having a food allergy is not a stigma or shame.  Rather, a safety issue made simple with the ability to self advocate.  Whether a child has allergies or has a friend who does, they will benefit from social lessons such as not sharing food, washing hands, and embracing differences in one another.  This book equips children with social and safety knowledge, as well as the tools needed to confidently navigate life with food allergies.

Also, if you cannot afford the book but are in need of something like this please email me through my blog as the purpose of doing this is to help kiddos like mine.
