Bed Pillow

Thread Starter

I'm nursing a 6 week old and I need a comfortable pillow to help prop me up at night during the night feedings.  I don't want to nurse him laying down in bed because it is too hard to stay awake.  And it isn't comfortable to just pile a bunch of pillows behind me.  I'm considering getting a bed wedge like this  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OCF9P0/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=AALQOSLYKJPH9  but I wanted to know from you nursing mamas if there is anything better.

Why would you have to stay awake?

I wasn't comfortable nursing my LO while I was asleep at that age either, because she was sooo tiny and I was afraid I would roll over on her. For now, maybe you could side lie, and prop pillows in front of your hips and/or knees so you don't roll. Then you can both fall asleep together.

As for the wedge, I think it would work if you are nursing with your little one belly down on you... I can't remember what that reclining position is called.
