bulb syringe at birth

Does anyone know of any articles or resources about why not to use a bulb syringe when the baby is first born that I could share with my doctor? Thanks!

The American Academy of Pediatrics, AAP, no longer recommends suctioning of any sort for any vigorous baby who is able to make spontaneous respiratory effort.  The doc should consult the AAP's neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) for details.

Babies can cough out, sneeze and cry out any fluid that is their resp. tract!  They don't need suctioning unless their airway is completely blocked.
