so whats in the medicine cabinet?

For the baby? Another post on possibly over medicating got me courious what do you all have around to "medicate" or treat. I don't like using a lot of medication I'd rather the body use its own defenses and of course the powers of breastmilk but we do have..

1) ear thermometer

2) nasal assprator (the blue suckie monster)

3) saline

4) baby vicks

5) infants advil (when baby hits 103 I give a reducer)

6) destin

7) little tummys gas drops

This is pretty much it my baby wears an amber necklace and so far we haven't needed more than that (9 months) and so far no precription drugs have been needed. When shes was an infant she had silent reflux but thankfully we were able to controll it with a bit of maylox supreme and the little tummies and after about 4 months she out grew it.

So whats in your medicine cabinet?

Thermometer

Baby Vicks

Saline for nose

Nasal aspirator

All purpose, fabulous healing salve that I put on cuts as well as diaper area

That's about it!

We only have a homeopathic kit.

I also have olbas oil (which is to help with breathing if one has a stuffed nose) - that is for all the family as well as my children.

I use breastmilk for a lot of things.

totaly us too. I wish the olbas oil worked for us but for some reason it triggers my oldest DD asthma but it doesn't bother mine.

ohh can I ask what it is? My oldest suffers from excema and just general skin irritation from our hot AZ sun and DH works a lot in the garden and gets those little cuts and bites on him... RIght now we use some CJ butter for the skin irritations and it works prety well but it burns my Cecilia when her excema flares..

generic infant ibuprofen

children's echinacea (for 1yr+)

I think that's it.

Elephant nose aspirator (which ends up being a toy quite a bit here)

Lavender chest balm (I use for my 3 year old, haven't used on babe)

2 kinds of organic, locally made diaper balm

Teething stuff (the liquid homeopathic one)

Calm drops (haven't used, got as a gift..)

Lavender vanilla massage oil and calming spray

I have this really amazing pink zebra print sewing box I took apart and made into a "natural baby care" kit for the kitchen so that's what's in it currently!

Thermometer, nose sucker, generic infant tylenol, homeopathic colic and teething meds, california baby cold  & flu bath (it's like olbas, but in soap form- have used only once, but it got the snot flowing!), we also have homeopathic tabs for all sorts of things if he gets them- for a baby, i would crush pellets between two spoons and add a few drops of water.
