Exercise Goals - Page 4

Yesterday I did the spinning babies inversion, hip tilts and then belly dancing. It was good!

I started last week off really on track wit the working out and then I was struck with a cold - so this week has been a total bust.  I am feeling a bit better and I think some sweat will do me some good.  I'm hoping to do some prenatal dvd's this weekend and a nice walk with the dog...Then back to the gym on Wednesday.

I just ate a yummy big piece of ice cream cake so a walk later seems fitting.

This week I managed the treadmill once for 25 min and then on Friday it was such a nice day I took a nice long walk outside.  It was fantastic!  And warm for the first time!  I broke a bit of a sweat.  Felt good -- can't wait to get outside more as the weather continues to get nicer!!

OK, I feel like I can get in on this now! The snow has melted on my walking route, I've been walking everyday that I've been able to. Today is looking like it will be beautiful! I am going to try to go for my walk today. I am trying get back up to 6 walks a week. Being outside & moving makes me feel like a million buckaroos.

The weather on Friday was so promising but so far this weekend isn't as nice as I would have hoped.

I did spend 30 minutes doing 3 sections of a prenatal pilates DVD before my morning coffee.  It was a good body warming work-out.

Walked briskly (I call 3.5 - 4.0 brisk) for 30 min yesterday evening.  Felt good.  Wish I didn't have to take so many pee breaks during my work outs though!!  LOL!

Yesterday I exercised for 40 minutes to Erin O'Brien's Prenatal fitness Fix. I had gone about 3 days without exercising. I like to exercise every day or at least every other day. I'm hoping to get some exercise in today, as well.

I need to fit it in more.  I'm not being consistent and it's annoying.  Though, i was able to run a quarter mile @ 5.4 the other day!  Felt awesome to MOVE!

Some days it's hard to fit it in. I was only able to exercise yesterday because DS played happily in the jumper next to me. I usually exercise during his naps, but he's teething lately (cutting his molars) and not napping much. Plus, he's just very fussy and clingy besides. It's hit or miss whether I can work it in when DH gets home. Plus, DS hasn't been sleeping well, so I haven't been sleeping well and I've just been so very tired.

I have finally got myself back into a decent exercise groove.  I am always so lazy during the beginning of a pregnancy but I'm getting back on track now.  Lately I have been doing an exercise video every morning.  Mostly something from the on demand channels like Julian Michaels (sp?) even though I don't really like her personality.  The joy of being an exercise teacher is that I can just adapt stuff as need be.

I also take a lot of walks at night and do some stretching.

My last few pregnancies I had a treadmill and that was awesome.  I will miss tv and walking this time around.

How is everyone else doing?

I know!  I had to break like three times today during my video to pee.  I don't remember that during my other pregnancies.  I think my uterus and bladder are getting old and tired on me lol.

Still doing good, I have been able to keep up with workouts 6 days a week still. Not running as much as I would like, it is hard to get up before DH leaves for work (I have to go outside or drive to the gym). I am going to try to run Tue and Thur this week. DH will be out of town for my usual sat run and I am not sure I am up for a double jogger run... My other workouts are DVDs and they are going well, I have found this week I have to alter more and more of the exercise, but at least I am still moving and it feels good to move!

I just did one of my belly dance DVDs. It feels good! This is actually the first time I've gone all the way through one ;) I had to skip bits as they made my cyst ache, but not very much. Makes me feel good to have gotten through it! I have no idea how long this one is, it won't tell me, but I'll just alternate through my three and it'll all even out. The sun is beginning to come out, it makes me want to move! Pretty happy to be getting into the big phase in the spring/summer so I want to move instead of fall/winter when I want to hibernate ;)

I have:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001W2HZ1C

This one seems to be the most thorough. She does not, however, have an instruction track so she teaches you to do everything every time. She goes nice and slow and encourages you to take breaks, drink water and monitor your heart rate so it doesn't get too high. I like that she has different sections so you can just do the yoga, just the belly dancing, just the wind down. And I love the "labor dance" section - I plan to start it when I start labor :)

This is my newest one and I'm kind of iffy. I think it's for people more fit than me. I have to skip the (very repetitive) workout bit because it makes my parts want to fall off - I like the dance, though, and the stretches at the end.

I did this one last night. This one goes fast, she does not explain how to do anything. Mostly easy to just figure out, but I get lost in the fast parts. I really like it for my impatient days ;) Not great for stretches.

I'd get Amira's and the last one if I were you. Amira's is very slow, the last is very fast, but together you can work it :) Or, if you're fit, go for the middle! I like that one, too, I'm just not ready yet.

Prenatal bellydancing sounds like so much fun! I need to look into getting one of those DVDs!

I feel like knocked up Superwoman right about now. Not only did I do my prenatal yoga this morning (for the first time this pregnancy. lol) but I also took a two mile walk with friends this morning. I hope I am not paying for it tomorrow. It felt so good to move around.

I am finally back to being able to complete whole exercise videos with out feeling like I am going to throw up or die lol.

I'm noticing a lot more energy in general.  I'm going to try and stick with it and take advantage so I can get into good shape before labor.  It's starting to get really hot here though and that does nothing to motivate me, I hate the heat.  I like having this thread to help keep me accountable. :)

I have the perfect pregnancy belly dance DVD - I bought it after a discussion on this thread.  I really like it!  I wish I had a mirror to look at to see if I am doing it anything like the instructor.  My arms get tired from holding them in basic - but I try and hold them up for as long as I can.

I also have the perfect pregnancy workout Vol 1 - which is an intense toning workout.  I was weightlifting somewhat regularly before getting preg - and found sections of this dvd quite hard - other parts were fine.  I did it last night - felt great!

Off to work.

Is this our most recent exercise thread?  I couldn't find another one, lol!

I've gotten back into running and I feel amazing about it.  Today on the treadmill I ran a quarter mile, then walked, ran out another quarter mile, walked a bit, and then decided to go for a half mile.  I did it!!  Woo hoo!  A half mile straight at 5.4-5.5!

Last week I took three stroller walks in addition to running on the treadmill one evening.  I push DD and we walk around the block and grab some bagels, backtrack and hang a right over a big bridge, down around a lake (sometimes we feed geese), and then back over some train tracks before heading home.  It's a WORKOUT.  It takes about 45 minutes (not counting down time in the shops and by the geese).  Going up over the bridge is the hardest part!!  It's tough pushing a 30 lb toddler in a lightweight stroller with no core strength.

I want to try to keep doing these walks as long as I can though.  It's much better for me to get my workout done in the morning than wait til evening.  Idk I just like it better.

Just started swimming and water aerobics.  Been swimming for a little over a week so so.  Did my first water aerobics yesterday.  It was definitely different.  Today swam/water walked for nearly an hour.

I try to walk the dogs as much as I can but with the ever changing lousy weather here, it's frustrating.

Definitely have been more healthy in the last 3 weeks or so.  Completely changed my diet.....I feel great!
