Late period, negative tests...

Hi Ladies!

I'm new to the site and was looking for some help... Me and the hubs have been TTC since June.  By November, I was frustrated with the lack of results and called it a "no trying month" and now AF is late.  My cycles are normally 34 days, which would have put her showing up Wed, Dec 15... I've taken 239082 tests since then, all being negative.  How long after your late AF was the test positive?  My only complaints are mild cramping and constant hunger.

Thanks for any help!

I have heard of ladies not getting positives until a week after their expected period.  But, you could have ovulated later, making the tests not show positive until later.  Fingers Crossed for you!

If you were truly and honestly late, it would show up on a test. Pretty much 100% of the time it shows by 18dpo. (4 days late). But it's usually blazing before then.

SO... If you late it's much more likely that you just ovulated late. But the good news is, you could still be pg. You're not out til the witch shows.

I experienced something similar back in Sept.  I have a consistent 28/29 day cycle.  I ended up being a week late, and went to see my doctor.  They made me pee in a cup, and nothing.  Doctor said I just had a missed period and it happens to many women. I got my period the next day.  He said by 2 weeks past your period "due" date, the tests will all show if you are pregnant (to accomodate for late ovulation) but if there isn't anything by then, you just missed your period.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just wanted to share.

To add to belovedofbast. Thing is, some people ovulate even later than 2 weeks late. The reason FOR that missed period is that you ovulated late. Really, it could come at any time. It could come at the same time your NEXT period would have been due. But that would just be fluke. It just means you ovulated almost a full month late. And even then, you can get a bfp. Know what I mean?

No matter how late your period is,  you CAN get a bfp. As long as you had sex around ovulation. And you don't just miss your period for no reason. If you've ovulated, it will come.

Some people have a mutated form of HCG that doesn't register well on tests. That's extremely rare though. Late ovulation is extremely common.
