When to move toddler out of convertible? Do I need to?

Hi everyone, I apologize if this seems like a dumb question, but I have a 2.75 yr old and a 7 mo. old.  I'm looking into getting the 7 mo. old a convertible seat to replace her infant seat.  As I'm doing research it occurred to me that my older DD may need a new seat and just give hers to DD2.

She's in an Evenflo Triumph Advance, from 2008.  Her head is probably 2 in. from the top, however I haven't actually masured it.  She is on the taller side for her age, but only about 27 lbs.

So I think she's still OK in it for a while, but it seems like she will outgrow it soon, so I'm wondering if I should get another convertible for her that will last longer and give hers to the baby, or do I get another type of seat for her (like something that will also be a booster)?

Any advise and recommendations are greatly appreciated!!!

You can do it either way but when I was in that situation (with the same convertible you have lol) My older child was on the "taller" side as well and I got him a True Fit and gave the Triumph to the baby. (I now wish I would have gotten a seat with a higher weight limit as he maxed it out at 3 1/2yrs for rfing so I had to turn him.

It depends on how long you want to keep your dd1 rfing.  If you want her to rf a lot longer, then yes, I'd buy her the new seat and pass down the ETA.  If you are ok turning her (or if you can wait on moving dd2 to a convertible until your dd1 is older and you're ok turning her) then I would pass down the ETA and get a ffing only combo seat for dd1.

What is a good combi seat?  Graco Nautilus?

Is your 2.75 year old rear or forward facing? If rear facing, do you want to keep her rear facing?

The Graco Nautilus is a good combination seat. In booster mode, it gives most children a decent belt fit.
