Vitex Question

Hi everyone,

Im new to this site. I noticed that there were some old threads about Vitex/Chastetree from a few years back. I wanted to post my question here in hopes that there were still some Vitex users.

I went off of the pill in Dec. 09 and weve been ttc since then. In June 09 my periods just stopped coming so I found Vitex. Started taking in Sept. and had a period on Nov. 11th.

Now, no period. I dont know what to say my cycles are because they have always been crazy after the pill and before the pill I was a teenager and they were pretty irregular then too.

Ive taken a few tests that were negative. Anyone had a similar experience with the Vitex working and then not working? Anyone think I might actually be pregnant? Only complaint is that i am super moody and emotional and i have had some cramping and headaches that made me think AF was gonna show....any comments would be much appreciated! Thanks.

I tried (edit)VITEX. It's very slow acting. I did 2 cycles of it and it didn't make me o. The cycle I went off it, I o'd. I think it was a delayed response to the vitex.

My guess is that the vitex didn't cause this period to come, becuase it doesn't usually work that quick.  But I could be wrong.  The fact that you're late again makes me think you ovulated late again. Which means the vitex still needs more time.

It's possible that you're pregnant and it's just too early to test. You're not out til the witch shows. What I would do is get some OPKs and start temping so you can see when you're o'ing. IT's better than being left in the dark like this.

If the vitex doens't work in a few more months I'd ask your doc for clomid. It's much more powerful.

Just don't take vitex  with the clomid because they cancel eachother out.

I've been taking vitex for about 6 weeks now, my cycles have been pretty average since getting off BC Nov 2009, ranging from 25-30 days, I noticed more O pain the first vitex cycle, and headaches for the first 2 weeks- but my LP was still only 11 days. So far this cycle I haven't had anything change, I am just gearing up to O in the next few days, hoping for Wed. or Thurs. I'm also taking a B complex so I'm not sure which is to blame or not to blame. I have read many places that Vitex takes 3 months to really start making a difference, so I guess you just have to stick it out for a while. I hope you get an answer soon! Any update on AF or a BFP for you, I know this post is about a week old now.

Yesterday I was out shopping and went to the restroom...TMI-when I wiped there was a little pinkishness so I thought for sure that AF was going to show overnight but still nothing, just cramping. I hadnt checked this post for a while cause im trying to stop obessing. I havent tested again either...

B6 helps your LP a lot! But can delay O. So I only take it after O and it's enough to give a solid 13 or 14 day LP.

If you haven't ovulated the spotting could be breakthrough bleeding. Your body trying to end this cycle and start over.

If you have ovulated and spotting isn't normal for you before AF you could definitely be pregnnat. My first 2 pregnancies I spotted, and I got my bfp 2 days after spot started.
