My 2 yr old and 3 yr old had a cold. Everyone else got over it in under a week. They are 2 weeks with snotty/stuffed noses, pretty bad. Today my 2 yr old is SUPER whiney and I noticed after nap that he's got a fever. He says his face (sinus cavities) don't hurt and his ears don't hurt. Sigh... Dr has no appointments until after Christmas! I can try urgent care... But hubby took the van to work today, so it's not going to be today anyway. I've got garlic oil in the house for ear infection, and a neti pot or dropper/syringe with neti salt for sinus. But I can't tell if he's got either or which one (and shining a flash light in his ears doesn't help me, either, as I have no idea what a normal or abnormal ear looks like). I feel like I'm a first-time mom or something, and I have 5 kids. It's frustrating.

Also, if you have ideas on additional ideas to treat infection and or soothe him through the fever, please hand them on down. I'm got colloidal silver in dropper and spray, too, but not sure how to administer it to him to help. And an eccinachea/goldenseal treatment for kids I have already been giving. Maybe some chamomile tea... Also Tylenol and triaminic, but no expectorant. I'll do a hot bath before bed, and essential oils in the humidifier while he sleeps. Anything else I can do, or things I might have on hand, before I can get to the store?
