My baby was born at 24 weeks gestation and is now 38.  We know we will more than likely have to have her trached, once she gets off of her high frequency vent; and so she will be going home on a vent and oxygen.  I was very discouraged by this news, because I assumed it would mean that I could no longer count on babywearing in a wrap or sling.  However, at my most recent La Leche League meeting, this forum was brought to my attention and I decided to consult any other parents out there on this issue.  What would be the best possible way for us to still consider babywearing (I was looking at the Storchenwiege, at first, and now need to know if that could still be an option or should we opt to go with another wrap?)?  And how do we carry the vent around with us, too?  She is only 3 kilos right now, and we will more than likely still be in the NICU for seven more weeks, at least, so she should be the size of a newborn full-term when we leave.  Thanks, in advance.
