.. and trying to get my ducks in a row. Ok first off ODD was born in the hospital. She has meconium and came out not breathing with the cord around her neck. I was on my back pushing for over 2 hrs, 2nd degree episotomy, fetal monitors, epidural, and pitocin. Your typical hospital birth. DS was born at home in the water. All 9lbs 13oz of him caused me NO tearing!!! It was wonderful. Placenta and everything was healthy. Then #3 (YDD) comes along and we attempted a water birth. But my water broke and meconium came shooting out. MW got a little concerned and said "ok mama you gotta get on the bed NOW". So with what felt like a had a bowling ball falling out of me I climbed on my bed and had my DD. She had meconium pretty bad but didn't breath any in. My placenta had a hard time detaching and MW gave me pitocin after I was losing a lot of blood. She tried bitter herbs first that didn't work. She tired massaging my tummy to and that didn't work. She did not pull on the cord at all. I had a tiny skid mark that healed fine. Even with everything scary that happened that birth (the blood lose was amazingly messy!!!) I am so happy with the way my MWs handled it and felt much safer at home.
But anyhow after last LO was born my MW told me I probably shouldn't have more. She said my placenta was breaking down and just didn't look healthy. She said that more pregnancies may not be a wise thing.

My question is: aren't all pregnancies different? Doesn't it matter how much time you have in between pregnancies too? All three of my kids only have 20-21mths in between them (found out the pregnant when the previous one was 12mths old or so). YDD is now 18mths old and I have lost more weight. BMI is very close to my goal. DH and I would love to have one more.

Do any of you have experience with this (losts of blood lose/ placenta breaking down and you being told you probably shouldn't have more?). Should I heed her advice and just be happy with my 3?
