Oh, mamas! I need some help! This is so embarassing!
Â
Dh and I have been together and sexually active for 7 years. We have two kids, and my youngest just turned a year. We're finally trying to get in the sexual swing of things again after some mild POP and his vasectomy followed up by a whole lot of chiro care for my pelvis. So anyway, I've noticed the past four or five times we've had sex (over the past two months) that the next day I get a little funky...uh... smell down there.
Â
What's going on? I can't even handle yet *another* issue coming between DH and I reconnecting, it seems like it will never end! But... let's be honest, that's gross! I don't want to smell funky every time we DTD, not to mention it lasts for two days or so! I was researching a bit and I came across some info that leads me to believe this may be some sort of PH issue... either mine or DH's.
Â
Admittedly, my diet hasn't been super stellar since about Halloween, and I know too much sugar and such can alter your PH but even all the the crap I've been allowing to sneak in my diet the past few weeks is not so bad compared to how absolutely horrible my diet has been for easily half of the time we've been together.
Â
-I don't suspect it's a problem with BV, though I'm open to suggestion. I don't have weird discharge or itchiness and it goes away in two days or so and is *only* a problem after DTD.Â
-I know my body has changed through the whole pregnancy/birth/nursing thing. I am still nursing my 14 mo DD, so probably my hormones aren't 100% but I nursed DS for an 20 mos and never had this problem.
-I'm quite certain it's not yeasties, either, as I've had them in the past and they aren't smelly and are very itchy. I also eat what good quality yogurt on a regular basis.
Â
Ugh. So... once again I think this is a PH issue. I guess what I'm wondering it what is the most effective way to remedy this situation? Like everyone else, I'm just about a week away from a massive diet overhaul and certainly don't mind having optimal PH as a goal... obviously I need to cut out sugar, which I will very soon... what else throws your PH? Do I need to bring this up to DH to see it's an issue with him? He did have a vasectomy last spring. I don't see how, but could that be at play here?

Anyone with experience or sage advice? Is there something I'm overlooking and/or haven't considered?
