For my first two births, I was a lurker on the "What to Expect" boards. After my first uninformed birth which ended unnecessarily in c-section, I vowed to live a more natural and informed life. My second child I had a home VBAC, where my son was born with a perfect APGAR of 10. It completely fulfilled my confidence in myself and in the natural birthing process. Both of my children were born in the 42nd week, the first was induced at 9 days, while my second was born on the 12th day. Had I been in the hospital, the moment I went over my due date they would have done a c-section. My midwife was a wonderful and empowering woman, who knew lots about the birthing process without being a pushy know-it-all.

I feel like more women need a forewarning about doctors, who certainly have their place with women who need them and are higher risk. But for young women like me (26 now, 22 for my first) it is not needed. I am trying for my third, blessed child. We had no trouble getting pregnant, so I don't expect it will take long, but you never know. My fertile days were Christmas and the surrounding days. Here's hoping first time is a charm!

As an experienced mom, I welcome any inquiries!
