Adding smilies to signature?

Maybe it's just late but for some reason, no matter how many times I search, I can't seem to find out how to add those cute little smiley emoticon thingies to my signature. Can anyone point me towards the instructions? Thanks.

Hi! When you click Reply, the editor box will open for you. Across the top of the reply (editor) box, you will see a smilie face icon:  over on the right. Click on this icon and a box of smilies will appear. You must click the individual smilie you would like to place.

If you are in the default editor (also called Rich Text), you have to open the smilie box each time and select the individual smilie in order to have it appear. If you are in BB Code editor, you can just type the smilie code :( and have  appear automatically.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term but I was referring to the icons in the signature box, not in replies.  Like the icons for cloth diapering, co-sleeping etc.

Oh, totally my fault. Sorry for the confusion. Editing your signature works the same way as replying to a post. A text editor box appears when you click Edit Signature Text on your profile page, and you should be able to select the smilies to add to your signature by clicking on the  icon in the editor box. Below is an image of my Edit Signature Text editor. The smilie icon is next to Spellcheck/ABC :

When you click on the  icon, a box of smilies should appear.

This is my problem as well, but where is the "edit signature text" link?  When I click on my profile, all I see is "Edit Community Profile" and "Edit Account Details," neither of which accesses my signature...

It's actually on your profile page (the one that contains those two buttons), just scroll way down.

To edit your forum signature, navigate to your "My Profile" link which is located at the top left of the page (next to Calendar).

Below your image gallery, you will see a section called "Your Forum Signature."  Below that is the "Edit Signature" button. 

 

Click Edit Signature Text, format your signature (text, bolding and italics only), and click save.
