The Fabulous ONE THREAD - for the win! 12/28 - 1/8 - Page 3

I have a question... thought someone might have some advice!  I've been spotting/ bleeding lightly the past three days.  It's 6 dpo-8 dpo.  It is not AF... I have exactly 28 day cycles without fail, AF is super heavy, this is very light.  Mostly just spotting.  I have been doing a lot of BDing... could that be why?  This has never happened before.  Any thoughts??

Hmm...maybe implantation spotting?  Maybe result of lots of BDing irritating the vaginal lining...  Keep an eye on it fer sure, though.

AFM...3rd day of high temps.  I can officially be moved to Waiting to Know (TIA).

Hi Ladies!  May I join this exciting thread?

My DH and I just decided that we would like to try for a second child.  We have a DD who is almost 4 and honestly thought that we were fine with one child.  Neither of us have any family in town, so it's tough having small kids with no support system.  I have some close friends, but they are busy with their own small children, so it's a challenge!   My DH is a college professor and I'm an RN and a student nurse-midwife (plus a SAHM), so we are busy busy people!  But,  I'm 38 and DH is 41, so it started dawning on me in the last couple of months that if we were to have another baby, NOW is really the time.   We'll manage, right?   Then once I started thinking about maybe having another baby--BAM!  That's all I can think about now! happytears.gif

I took out my Mirena in mid-November (call me crazy) and so I've now had one full regular cycle since being off the hormones.  I am also trying to eat better and get in some exercise.  I'm waiting on my next cycle to start (which should be very soon) so I can get the ball rolling!  We got pregnant our first month trying with DD, so I'm hopeful.

Good luck to everyone!

Jennifer

I need a little HPT advice.  I'm planning on testing tomorrow with FMU, at 11dpo.  I would just wait until my period is due (which would be the next day), but my sister is in town, just turned 21, and I would like to show her a proper NYC New Years Eve!!  So, I'm going to test tomorrow.

Here's the issue:  I have 3 pregnancy tests in my cupboard: 1 FRER, 1 EPT Early Response (blue dye), and 1 CVS brand Early Response (blue dye).  I know blue dye tests are pretty bad for false positives / evap lines....and it is early-ish, so it's possible that if I am pregnant, the line would be faint.  Obviously the FRER is the better test, but I was hoping to save it for a confirmation test is I got a line on the other ones! lol.gif

What would you do?

HopefullyMama - For all about various HPTs and their sensitivity go to this website.  It's a little dated, but the writer is really funny and it's still a useful link:

http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html

From looking at it, the CVS seems to detect at 25 mIU/mL like the FRER, but the EPT comes in at 50?  So, if you don't want to use the FRER, than the CVS should be just as good.

Let us know!

Welcome CNM2B!

TalkToMeNow - I agree with NotTelling.  (That sounded weird.)  It could be implantation or irritation or sadly af starting early.  It's a wait and see.

Nicolian - Do you have a chart we can look at?  You may have O'd or you may have geared up to O and then not O'd, but maybe O'd later.  It can happen.

HopefullyMama, I'd go for the FRER... I seem to remember hearing people say that the blue dye tests give more false positives... ??  I could be crazy though!

Thanks for the replies.... I just feel like it's too much blood for implantation... hmmm... I know my dr. said I probably have endometriosis, so not sure if that would affect implantation?  Guess I'll just wait and see.

Xerxella - I haven't been charting. This is my first cycle off of BC. I think I will start if AF shows. That will work, right? I have never charted before. I would need my BBT, CM, and OPK info, right?

Mummoth: Sorry to hear you're back on Waiting to O. :( Hopefully you'll have a good New Year's celebration to take your mind off of it a little.

Not_Telling: Hah! Wrapping packages, I love it. ;)

Mommy2b4: I know what you mean about overdoing it on the BD'ing. TTC has definitely given me some extra incentive to DTD, and DH is not complaining!

Nicolian: Yes, your BBT and CM observations are most important, and you can record OPK too. I haven't broken down and bought any OPKs yet, I'll probably wait a few cycles before I try that. Right now I'm mainly looking at CM to tell when I'm ovulating. Charting is surprisingly easy, the hardest thing for me is waking up at the same time every day to take my BBT (especially since we're on vacation right now and I'm off my normal schedule).

Speaking of ovulating, I think today might be the day! Definitely egg white CM, and I've had some dull cramping pains on my right side. Pretty subtle, but enough that I notice. We DTD the day before yesterday, and I want to do another go round tonight. I haven't told DH I have plans for him tonight--we're actually staying at a friend's house, so we'll have to be quiet/sneaky. But sometimes it's more fun that way. ;) I really hope I am O'ing, it's right on schedule (Day 14) for a "normal" cycle, which is pretty crazy for me. (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/32b88b)

I have a quick question for you charting veterans.  I'm just getting started with this first cycle.

AF started today, so technically today is Day 1 of my cycle.  However, not knowing that it was going to start today, I obviously didn't take my temp.  Do I just take my temp tomorrow and consider that day 1?  Sorry if that is a dumb question!

Jennifer

Today is your CD1. Are you charting on paper or online? If you're using paper, just mark your temp tomorrow on CD2, online you can start your cycle today and not enter your temp, there's other info to put in, like in symptoms you can tick off crams or a headache or your energy levels.

Chica- my acupuncturist said that women 20-30 should expect 4-5days of ewcm, then the first day you are dry you should estimate that o occurred the previous day, or your last day of ewcm, so get to it! Lots of BDing in the next few days!

CNM- today would still be cd1, you will just miss a day of temping, good luck!

I think I O'd yesterday, we actually dtd yesterday afternoon, so who knows, I don't have much hope for this cycle since we dtd like 4 times around O last month and still a bfn.

AF was/is due today, as it's cd25, and I typically now have a 24 day cycle. No AF so far, but I was not only sick (and still am) starting when ovulation would have occured, but I also took antibiotics this cycle. Normally the antibiotics bring AF early, so I'm a bit lost.

I am having some possible AF twinges, so AF could arrive any minute.

I have plans Saturday, so it will likely arrive on time to ruin that! Arrgh!!!

Everybody have a Reproductive New Year!!!

Hopefully those aren't AF twinges!  FX for you!! :)

Does anyone know if having the flu can cause you NOT to ovulate?  I'm on CD30 or 31 and don't think I've ovulated.  If so, this is my second (potentially 3rd) annovulatory cycle in the past 3 months.

I am doubtful that I'm pregnant, but I want to avoid my period for 2 more days. Therefore I am taking Progon B, starting tonight, in the hopes that it will delay AF. We shall see if it works.

I'm on about day 12 of 99-100 degree fevers, which is driving me nuts! I'm hoping it clears up soon, I got things to do!!

BFN for me..

I saw this yesterday and thought it so interesting. Figuring some other TTC ladies would think so too. Very cool, but now always pleasant to the eye. What your cervix looks like.

Wow, already 2011 for you! Happy New Year! Here is Boston it is only 9 am, I am just starting to clean my house and get ready for some grocery shopping. We will be dining on Chinese food tonight, pretty traditional in my area since it is one of the few places open on NYE, and having about 20 guests to our house. What did everyone do/is everyone doing to ring in the New Year?

I don't know, but I think that's what happened with me.  I just got AF for sure today... cd 22!  Ugh!  Wasted month... :(  I can't imagine I ovulated and then got AF 7 days later.  Oh well, guess it's a new cycle to try!

Oh, can I be moved back to Waiting to O?  Thanks!
