4 Hour Body eating plan

anyone doing this?

DH and i are planning on trying it for a month and i can't quite wrap my brain around how to shop for food for the eating plan. it's like the primal diet, but beans and lentils. and no fruit 6 days a week. (which i might not be able to do) he eats like animal protein (no dairy but cottage cheese) beans or lentils and veggies. hmmmm ....bean and meat soup? veggie and sausage omelettes? for breakfast i made an egg, chicken sausage and peppers all scrambled up. beyond that i feel like i am grasping.

any suggestions for this stymied foodie?

How did it go?  I got the book a few weeks ago, but wanted to wait until after the holidays before I changed anything.  I think the hardest thing for me would be giving up milk.  I crave milk so bad while I'm nursing.  From reading the blog, I've kind of attempted it before and it seems like it would work well if I'd stick with it longer.  My meals would be eggs with onions and veggies mixed in and part of a can of Cuban style black beans from Trader Joes, chili (I'd make a crockpot and have leftovers for days), taco salad (kind of) or lentil vegetable soup.

i have actually been making all kinds of stuff since i figured it out!

i have made chicken tortilla soup with black beans and no tortillas. chili with meat and beans (and shredded carrots), pureed cauliflower, vegetable curry with edamame, salmon and lentils, cobb salad, etc. my DH loves sausage. so i found some flavored chicken sausage, and he eats that with refried beans, guac, and steamed veggies for lunch. breakfast has been heuvos rancheros (with no tortilla), veggies and eggs, etc. tim ferris might eat the same stuff over and over again, but it just won't work with me.

so far i have lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks and DH has put on 8 pounds (because he is bulking up, not losing weight).

Any more progress?  Sounds like it was working pretty well so far.  What all is your husband doing to add weight?  just the diet or the weightlifting stuff too?  My husband was interested in trying it, but we don't have any access to any weight equipment.

I did almost three days of the diet last week, "cheated" Saturday and have been back on it since.  I don't know if I've lost weight, but I feel really good!  I have energy and don't feel bloated and uncomfortable.  If nothing else I need to figure out what from my normal diet is giving me problems.

i lost 1/2 pound last week. but it was the week before my period.

so far DH is having issues with the cheat day. the next day he has sugar/carb cravings.

i think we need to do some tweaking, but we're getting there!

(DH is following the chapters on bulking up, which i didn't read)
