Waldorf dollmaking- patterns and supplies

Thread Starter

I have a few questions about Waldorf dollmaking.  First, what is the difference between the two cotton fabrics on A Child's Dream?  There is the Joy's knit and then a different cotton interlock which only comes in 2 colors.

What is the difference between tubular gauze and tubular stockinette?

Does anyone know of a simple t-shirt pattern for a 16" doll?  Plain pants?

What is the difference in the different doll patterns?  I have the Joy's Button Child pattern which I recently made and I am not loving the jointed doll thing.  I bought the Honey doll pattern also for a non-jointed 16".  Are the Joy's patterns good or are there better patterns?  I want to have a good working knowledge of making the 16" size as well as smaller 13" dolls as I enjoy learning crafts and then changing patterns around to my unique liking.  I have a few friends that have asked for dolls for their children so I'm going to have a lot of opportunity to hone my skills in the near future.

TIA!

Both of the skin tone knits from ACDCT are wonderful! Joy's is slightly thinner, or lighter weight and perfect for smaller dolls and dolls without string joints or noses. I would double the fabric if you want to use it on larger dolls with joints and noses.

The other fabric is thicker but does not have as wide a color selection. Weir also carries another fabric that is a nice quality- http://www.weirdollsandcrafts.com/doll-skin/doll-skin-fabric.html

For large dolls I prefer the De Witte heavyweight fabric here-
