Hmmm, what will I find next? I am finding that the more I declutter, the more I am willing to part with things that I wasn't before. It feels like I am taking it to a deeper level...

So, my dh saw the list I keep of what I donate. He said, what is this your packing list.....didn't know if I should tell the truth...he isn't one for minimilism....

Recycled:

- Magazine issue I had an article published in (this was hard to part with, but really, I know they published me, I put it in my resume, I can pitch the magazine).

- 8 empty or nearly-empty bottles of perfume/essential oil -- the perfume was from middle school.  Seriously.  I have held onto these for twenty years.  I think I was holding onto it out of nostalgia!  I honestly can't believe it hadn't gone bad.

Thrown out:

- stack of random little things from dresser drawer

Donated:

- 4 scarves I don't wear

- pregnancy test that will expire long before we TTC again

- lanyard from our local water dept. that says "Water is Cool!"  Really?  I was keeping that?

- 1 bottle of geranium oil (I hate the smell of geranium.  Why did I buy this?)

- little painted box with a weird-looking cat on it that I received as a gift for my eighth birthday.  (I think it's ok to get rid of it now!)

Regifted:

- 5 scarves and 1 big piece of fabric (used them as wrapping paper)

- 2 gift bags

- 1 big piece of ribbon

Sold:

- 2 books on Amazon (new decluttering total: $226.07!)

Today I tackled the fridge, freezer, and the pantry. I didn't end up counting up individual stuff from the fridge and freezer...so I'll just count bags of trash on that. I also did not count the contents of the reusable containers (contents went down the disposal and containers went in the dishwasher)...

2 bags of food trash

14 expired food items from pantry

I find that also...the more I purge, the easier I find it to pick something up and say Hey I can toss this, what am I keeping it for..  P.S. Maybe don't tell him... winky.gif

But I am in awe of you tossing that magazine! I don't think I could have done that.

Yes, I think that might be for the best....16 years of marriage does teach you a few things. Besides, none of it was his personal stuff. Lol.

Large bag full of pricey skeins of yarn I bought when I thought I was going to LOVE knitting...well I don't. It got in the way of all the books I want to read.

3 knitting projects started & not finished.

I gave the above to my friend from temple who is an amazing knitter and all around lovely person. She will enjoy the fancy yarn and finish the 3 projects since they were meant for presents for ds 1&2. Only 4 things, but the weight lifted of the unfinished projects is lovely!

Whoa, been a while since I posted. Ever since MDC went to the current format I've had trouble reading it on our household computers and on my phone. Anyway, 1678 plus 10 more= 1688.

Okay, I think I'll be halfway to my goal by the end of the month!  Right on schedule, too... it's June!  Hooray!

Yesterday I cleaned out the spice cupboard.  DD "helped" -- I think we made more of a mess than we cleaned, but she had fun shaking spices all over the place.  We were sneezing for hours.

Condensed multiple spice containers into one, threw out extras -- I didn't keep track, but we'll estimate that 12 jars were eliminated in the decluttering.

Also threw away a lip gloss DD had destroyed but was still playing with, and a bottle of baby shampoo we were never going to use.

So that's 14 more items.  We're almost there!

1688 plus 4 more= 1692
