I've been editing my last post back on page 49 for a long time because it wasn't letting me post any new replies.  Something was wrong with the rich html editor I think.  I've been hovering around there for a long time because it seems like everytime we get rid of something, we also get new things, so the total has remained the around the same.  But I'm tired of being stuck on page 49! So hopefully this post works!

Also.. why is it that I've gotten rid of over 1300 things and many of those were furniture or big items, but yet it still feel crowded in here?  I even went around like a crazy person and counted everything that is left, and it looks like around 3000 things are left.  We have about a 999 sq. ft. 3 bed, 2 bath apartment.  It always feels like there is WAY too much to clean up, too much to walk over, and its just too crowded.  It's really stressing me out. We have a tiny loveseat, not a couch. No microwave in the kitchen.  Only one small TV.  One way-too-small-for-our-family dining table.  No coffee table.  Only one bookshelf.  It seems like it shouldn't feel this crowded.  Maybe it's just because my 1 year old constantly throws everything on the floor.

old keyboard

28 hangers

gift bags

pea coat

9 make up brushes

1 tank top

1 artificial flower

5 bathroom things

bathroom rug

14 too small kids clothes

3 pieces of rope

5 clothes of mine

-3 baby things I decided not to give away

-3 new toys

-14 new clothes

21 clothes

8 kitchen things

2 kids toys

-12 new pair socks

Yes that could very well make it feel crowded if the floor is messy very often.  Toys all over the floor can make one feel agitated and uptight, and that feeling can also add to the feeling of being crowded in and unrelaxed.

Also there is a possibility that you may be feeling unrelaxed for other reasons, which could give you a stressed jangled feeling that decluttering is not going to completely solve.

2 pairs of shoes I bought at the thrift store last year but have never worn -- I'm sending them back!

1 pair of shoes someone gave us for DD that she can't walk in (they have a wedge heel.  Honestly, heels for a two-year-old??)

checkbook for an account I closed last year

pair of slippers that I love but are completely destroyed -- time to let them go
