It's been awhile since I posted, but any progress is good progress

627 plus

corn sack with a hole in it (But maybe I shouldn't count it since it was replaced with a rice sack)

18 items of baby clothes (hooray! and I think I found someone to take a lot of my stuff!)

3 old paint brushes

2 used rollers (and I TOTALLY re-organized the paint area downstairs)

misc trash from DDs room to round up to

660

OK - not on track for 2011 - but even 100 items a month is a good start.

DD has also put aside some stuffed animals to go out - like  5 or 6 out of oh - 30 or 40. Small progress.

Over the past 3 days, I have parted with 382 items from our master closet, two drawers, a hall closet, my middle son's room and my armoire. I had almost 100 hangers that will go to donation tomorrow morning. I promise we aren't hoarders either!! My total so far is 1225/2011 ONLY 786 THINGS TO GO!!!

We're dropping everything off this afternoon when we go to my mom's house!!!!

I was so thrilled to discover this morning that my coffee grinder has broken. At last I can throw it out. energy.gif

Why am I thrilled? Well I happened to own two of them but of course only need one. I felt bad about getting rid of the second one out while it still worked.

Why did I own two coffee grinders?   Well that is a long story involving mothers who while visiting mistake chocolate coated raisins for coffee beans, anyway the long and short of it is that I ended up with a second coffee grinder.

Ugh, that clear button is in totally the wrong place!

Too funny on the coffee grinder and extra can opener!

At 1033 now, not as far as I'd like, but I'm working full time now (hence why I haven't posted, but have thought of this thread a million times!).  It's hard to work full time nights and declutter as much as I'd like.  It doesn't help that I don't get much help.  My husband doesn't understand night shift, he says "you got to sleep all day". Yes, lucky me, I cleaned house all day yesterday, worked a 12 hour night, got 6 hours of broken sleep starting at 9am, woke up at 3 only to shower, clean up the mess you made the night before, and then go to work again for 12 hours!  Clean up your beer bottles and dirty underwear!

Despite all that, I've got plans for July and August.

go through toys

go through shed

go through DS's closet

go through my clothes

That should get me moving in the right direction.  In the meantime, I have to keep watching hoarders, THAT really helps! ;)

Did DS's closet today.  35 more items that can go, over half are potentials for the resale shop!  I've already made more than $50 in credit there from my decluttering.  :)

Bag of bags that was in the basement. Ya know I was saving bags. Only somehow they got to the basement and then they all go wet. Calling is 20 bags, but it was probably 2x that. I actually went through about half of them to see if any were salvageable (cause somehow I thought this was a good use of my time despite that fact that there is ANOTHER bag of bags upstairs. So that's why I'm counting it as 20)

Cardboard box - also wet - see bags.

piece of wood from box.

40 more pieces of baby clothing to friend who needs them and posted to facebook. I actually went through the box and counted.

1 very small baby hat to a different friend.

random trash from DDs floor - detritus from big room switch.

calling it 750 tonight.

Also attempted to start 15 minutes of clean-up before bed. DH only grumbled somewhat and DD was surprisingly compliant once I said I didn't care if she didn't want to! She got her choice of what to clean-up.
