Got hit w. spunk this morning

20-34 plastic cups that no one is ever going to use

35 expired baking soda

36 nuts and bolts to ??

37 tin box

38 old addy labels

39 shredded old check book

40 expired rolaids

41 hand cream

42-43 magazines

44 junk thing

45-46 rulers

47 old car registration (no longer have the car)

48 old cell phone

49-50 homeschool workbooks

50-54 piles of paper

55-57 folders

58 grocery sack

Most of this was from one little side table in the living room. I even folded the table and put it away.  Hoping that if the space isnt there things will not accumulate again!  I have come to accept my roommate is a borderline hoarder and will not get rid of anything.  Living with a hoarder makes it incredibly difficult to get rid of my things or DS things as well.  My adopted method of numbering things and typing them out really helps early on and keeps me motivated. I have bag in my car for the resale shoppe and I should be headed there this afternoon.

The second table now holds a plant, box of tissues, pencil sharpener and book.  I really need to put the book away and find a diff spot for the pencil sharpener.

Dammit, I keep forgetting to count what I get rid of!  How many items does a refrigerator count for? eyesroll.gif  I know I filled two garbage bags to the brim with ruined food and have another overflowing bag ready to go to Goodwill, so I am going to say all of that is 100 and start from there.  So, for now, 111/2011 for me.

Twinmom I have decluttering 'sessions' in which I keep this window open at the time, so each time I find something to chuck out I jot it down here....that way I mostly keep track of what I am getting rid of.  If i waited till things left the house, I wouldn't have a clue remembering what I had tossed. smile.gif

I am using this challenge to get rid of things that I have stashed in the cupboards/garage etc....so I am not bothering to count regular bags of garbage, as that goes out all the time regardless.

Wasn't intending to declutter today, but I cleaned out a kitchen cupboard inadvertently this evening while hunting for something I knew was in the back somewhere.

17 items pitched,

1 recycled,

and lots of space in the cupboard!

1 expired salad dressing

20 cat figurines to donate (my mom gave me my old collection from middle school while I visited... what was I thinking?)

And, I went through a memory box and got rid of most everything. I'm doing rough estimates on the amounts.

150 mementos (I can't believe the things I saved! Every card, plane tickets, a calendar, graduation programs...)

We just found out we are moving at the end of the month so my decluttering is going to be amped up! Next up, my yarn stash. I'd like to get it down to two rubbermaid totes instead of four...
