My DD is 9.5mos. I've always nursed her down for naps, and to sleep at night. She tolerates others putting her asleep when I'm not around. We co sleep, and she nurses 2-5x/night. The last week and a half or two, she has been hard to put to sleep for the night. It's been a 2-3 hour ordeal. I nurse her, she doses, but wakes back up and is ready to play! This also means she is falling asleep 2-3 hours later, but waking at the same time in the morning. The last 5 nights she has ultimately fallen asleep with DH bouncing/dancing/shushing (their usual). For naps, (which have stayed the same in time and length btw) about 50% of the time she has been nursing, unlatching, snuggling while I rock, and then falling asleep.
So, in summary what I'm seeing is: tough to get to sleep, not nursing to sleep as much.
She can't possibly be weaning, can she? She is too young based on all I've learned. Plus, I've heard the nighttime/nap time nursing are usually the last to go.
Is she letting us know it's time for another routine?
Thanks!
