funny noise dd makes....just for fun or worrisome?

Dd has recently started making this weird noise that sounds like she is gasping for air. I tried ot videotape her doing it but it doesn't show tit when it is really prnounced. She started out just doing it sometimes but now does it all the time.

Is it just becuase she likes it, or would it oncern you? DP says he thinks it sounds like she can't breath. She doesnt' appear to be having trouble breathing, but I was wondering what you all thought. the link below is that video.

ETA: sorry the video is such horrible quality and turned weird. also she isn't squealing.....that noise is her inhaling air if that makes a difference.

I would have her checked, simply because this could be the start of asthma or some other breathing issue.  Another thing you can look at is her ribcage.  When she breathes does her ribcage indent or cave in?  When DS is having an asthma attack his rib cage will sometimes cave in because he can't get any air.  He also squeals like a seal.

I can't really hear anything on the video but I was trying to watch her chest to see if it was 'caving', I couldnt tell.  If you have a DR call them for an appt, or see if there is a clinic near by.

Breathing issues are not something that should be taken lightly.   I realize she may be fine and odds are that she is, but if shes not, your DD needs care.

Thanks. DPand I can't agree on whether he chest is caving in. I think it's just normal breathing movements, he thinks it's something more. We were JUST at the doctor 3 weeks ago for a well check, and then last week for really stubborn ringworm. I guess I may need to make another appt.....sigh.

By the way, can anyone else hear on the video, the noise I'm talking about? The more opinions the better! Thanks!

Do you mean the noise where she is inhaling longer and kind of squealing?  If that's it, it sounds normal to me.  I couldn't really hear anything else.  I would have a dr check her out though if you are worried about breathing at all.
