I got my BFP on Friday!!! I'm so excited!!

I *think* I've decided to just go with the midwives at VMC. I think I'm too chicken to do a home birth for my first. My mom had an extremely traumatic labor and delivery and we both very nearly died. I'm trying to not let that affect my decision, but I don't want to feel afraid or nervous. And I quite like a lot of people doting on me 

I have my first prenatal appointment for two weeks from today!

Just wanted to update this thread - I actually did end up choosing to work Charlene and we're planning a home birth!! I'm really excited about it and proud of myself for taking this step.

I'm 16 weeks along now and we're having a boy!!

Hi, Jessica! Pregnant in Renton! Sounds like a sequel to Sleepless in Seattle! 
 

I'm really liking Charlene. She's very warm and friendly and I feel very comfortable with her. She is very present and has good advice for all of my questions. I would recommend meeting with her. She does a free initial consult.

I am doing my ultrasounds at Valley Medical, though, and that's working just fine. They do a great job in their Maternal and Fetal Medicine Clinic. 

How far along are you?

I'm about 7.5 weeks LMP. I'm glad you are liking her. :) I will add her to my list! This is my third pregnancy, so I'm really just looking for someone laid back and hands-off who will let me do my thing unless I need help or they see a problem arising.
