homeschooled moms

Just curious, how many moms have been homeschooled? Are you doing the same for your own kids?
I was homeschooled from 8th grade on over 20 years ago. Sort of a pioneer. John Holt was a guest via telephone to a picnic once which was very exciting. I did homeschool my oldest for a short time but presently they are all in public school.
I love it when discussing homeschooling to nonbelievers. When I finally mention that i was hsed they are just shocked; almost incredulous.

Wish my parents had been buddies with YOUR parents!!

I unschooled my last two years of high school by choice. It took some convincing for my parents, but it has really shaped how I see learning. I'm glad I had that head-start for my kids. I plan on unschooling. I can't see sending my kids to school at all, unless they came up with a convincing argument for it.

I begged my mom to let me homeschool on more than one occasion. But she didn't have the confidence. Which was unfortunate, as I was the sort of kid who would be a natural unschooler, as I was when not locked up in the big building, and she was quite resourceful at "afterschooling" and providing resources to keep me from getting bored--it wouldn't have been much of a stretch.

She's very supportive of my plans to homeschool my kids, and wishes she'd had the confidence, because my sisters especially would have benefited by not having the labels hanging over them ps gave them by the end of 1st grade.
