I find you can find videos for just about anything online to teach you to do something.. I always go online when I need to figure something out..

Alternately, do you know anyone who knows how to do it? Its fun at times to get together with others and do some crafting. It can really motivate you to get things done.

Crazy- I was really intimidated at first (I actually was worried they weren't going to turn out) but it was really easy once I got started. I think pushing myself to get started was probably the hardest thing!

Getting started is really hard. I don't think I've ever been so afraid to start a project. I really need to just do it though. Right now I'm postponing until after I get done with baby stuff but I have to get to it after that because I really want that doll to be a Christmas gift this year.

I finished the first sock for DD1's boot socks.  It's my first sock w/ a heel and all, and it moved along fairly easily.  I'm hoping to cast on for the second one later today and make enough progress that I'll hopefully finish it tomorrow night.

I've been exhausted the past few days, but I managed to finish sewing the felt toy for our kitty. Now I just need to get catnip to stuff it with and sew up the little opening for that and it is done!

I made a hooded cape for dress up play.  It's pretty girly, and I only have a son so far, so I'll either swap it in a craft swap or use it as a gift for one of my nieces.  Here is ds modeling it.  It has a velcro closure, but I had to pin it on him so he'd leave it on long enough for me to get a picture.

Finished up the first pair of boot socks for DD1, bringing me to 11/52.  Casting on for pair #2 now.

-toddler backpack for DD2

-crayon roll for DD2

-4 quilted hot pads for MIL  cut them out, need to sew

-knit hat for BIL
-grill roll and mitt for FIL
-2 1 quilted rugs for kitchen  1 DONE, 1 left to sew

-4 3 prs knit boot socks (1 pr for each kid)  1 DONE, 3 left

-finish quilt for DH (just have the binding left) DONE

-6 knit dishcloths for me  DONE

-4 rag quilts (1 for each child, this is their b-day gifts for this year)

4/52!  I've been trying to knit socks for ds for almost a year!  I kept having to rip things out because I didn't like the pattern or I'd taken too long and his feet had grown too much!  I ran out of yarn at the end and did the second toe in a different color, but I'm so happy to finally have these finished I couldn't care less!  Here they are.

5/52 done now.  I caught myself coveting new crafting supplies 3 times yesterday though!  Good thing I wasn't in any stores. 

My latest is a hat for ds.  I made him a winter hat last year, but haven't been able to find it since we got back from Christmas vacation.  So I made one to match his new longies. 

Next up, the little guy needs some mittens, and then he will be all set for winter accessories.

I mixed up all my aromatherapy blends for the month of February today (counting as one):

~ Lemon EO in a fragrance-free hair conditioner (Desert Essences)

~ Lemon shampoo (Desert Essences) and unscented shampoo (California Baby)

~ body wash ("Unwind" by a brand I cannot think of) with lemongrass face scrub (too strong for my face, but works for my body in small doses)

~ Lemon EO in a blend of liquid hand soap (herbal green scent with significant hint of fresh lemon...now)

~ a perky "energizing" body or room spray (lemon, orange, rosemary, lavender EOs)

~ a focusing "concentration" room spray (lemon, peppermint, rosemary EOs)

and

~ a "love potion" room spray (rose, bergamot, lavender EOs) for our master bedroom....

My DD has been selling Girl Scout cookies like never before! She has gotten soooo much more comfortable talking to people, it is amazing! She made more sales in the first day than she did her entire first cookie season. (I don't actually care about selling cookies, but to see her grow and shine is really awesome.) Anyway, I am counting all the prepwork to become the Troop Cookie Manager as one project. It was HOURS of training and work that took time away from other projects. It is still a lot of work doing the job, but the prep-time was so unexpected. Booth sales start next weekend and that might be another project all by itself! Coordinating six site sales with 14 families and store managers and the GS computer system and the bank deposits, etc. Whew.

Uh-oh!  I just found out today that some crafty purchases I've been eyeing are either at risk of disappearing altogether or undergoing a price hike.  I think I might have to cave in to the temptation in  the case of the soon to be dissappearing, 50% off for now, yarn.

I'm a little late, but here's my weekly posting:

Week 47:  10/52.

I finished three dishtowels last week!  Hurray!!  This set is for my cousin, who eloped last spring (St. Patrick's Day).  I always thought that the Miss Manners rule that people had up to a year after a wedding to send a gift was a bit bogus.  But I'm really happy with that 'rule' right now!  And hoping I can get these dish towels done prior to her first anniversary.  I have 5 more dish towels to do and I'll be done (besides the "days of the week" towels, I usually make several seasonal ones - I've done one Christmas and one Valentine's Day; remaining are St. Patrick's Day, spring, Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving, and another Christmas/New Years one).  Silly, silly me - I also decided it would be *awesome* if I did a similar set of dish towels for my Christmas Person this year (my family draws names and that person gets a 'big gift.').  So while I will be taking a break from embroidery and getting back to sewing more, once I finish this set of dish towels - I will still need to embroider another set of 14 or so for my sister's Christmas present this year. 

Dh is anxious to get more office filing done, and to get decluttering done (still hoping for a big renovation this spring) - which means that besides the embroidery, decluttering projects (which don't include sewing) are going to need to dominate a lot of my time in the next few weeks.  I'm going to need to be organized and dedicated; maybe if I can spend a little less time on MDC and FB, I'll be able to keep up on regular stuff, dd1's school, the embroidery, decluttering, AND still get a little sewing done on the side (ha!).

Coyotemist - great job!  And Triana, welcome!  Good job, in fact, *everyone*!  People are finishing lots of projects!  (And Angelorum, I love the wool soaker!).  Sometime I ought to post pictures of something I finish ....

8/52- I made what is quite possibly the cutest valence for my sewing studio.  Adorable and just my style.  Still no desk though.  Oh well.  And I have been working on my cousins quilt.  it will take some serious time though to finish.  I only have until the 25th to finish it though- so I really have to be productive.

Completed the family colth wipes. I hemmed 105 wipes and only broke one sewing machine needle. Mom's Hotprints book is done and on it's way for Valentines Day. The living room walls have been painted and look fabulous!! The vingtage flower field guide pictures are printed, but I'm waiting for our tax refund to get the matting and paint for the frames. I updated Robbie's baby book (still needs pics) and completed Sara's baby book. Both need pictures, but that too will have to wait until the tax refund comes in to buy more printer ink. I also found out that my mom has the right foot for the sewing machine to complete sewing the backing onto Sara's quilt. I'm actually really excited that I've gotten so many things done. For some reason I had thought that I couldn't get this stuff done because the kids would be all over me...but they weren't! What project should I start on next?
