52 Project Challenge, 2011 - Page 3

Does dinner count??! LOL jk

I made baby legs for DS.

On a side note, I don't know if anyone else has this problem but whenever I'm finished a project I don't feel 'satisfied' like I should. I feel almost like I'm empty or like someone let all the air slowly out of a balloon, without that satisfying 'pop'. 'That's it?! What's next?'. I NEVER have just one project going either. I have like 50 projects going at any given time because I get bored very easily. My teachers were very frustrated with me in school lol. It's not to say that I don't feel good after I get something done but I am never satisfied and I wonder if that's 'normal'. Ha!

I love the vinyl record clock!  So simple, so cool, so OBVIOUS lol, what a great idea!

Anyway, I think I'm in... Don't know if I'm make 52, but accountability to work through the list of ideas is great...

Current plans:

1)  My alpaca Norwegian fair-isle knitted gloves (almost finished)

2) Thrummed slippers for DS (first one is done)

3) Thrummed bunny slippers for DD (bodies of both are done, need to add the detailing)

4) Thrummed bunny slippers for... a gift or to sell (bodies are done, need to add the detailing)

5) Thrummed slippers for me

6) Something with the purple silk wool yarn I bought

7) Something with all the acrylic yarn scraps I got for free at that yard sale...

8) Something with all the fabric scraps, maybe learn to quilt

9) The soap-making project SIL and I have been talking about doing for ages

10) Beeswax candles

11) Seasonal canning (IMO jam and salsa are most certainly "projects!" *grin*)

12) Knit scarf for DS

13) Fix DS's winter gloves (torn shell)

14) Fix the rip in the bedskirt

15) Iron the old Starry Night poster, mount and hang

16) Get back into making hemp jewelry, make a bunch of necklaces.

17) Knit Christmas presents for cousins

18) Make more gift bags for birthday and Christmas presents

19) Finish the knit cushion in the project drawer

20) Finish my knit socks (first one is almost done)

21) Finish DD's knit socks (second one is half done)

I think that's a good start...

I finished the extras for my Phat Fiber box samples.. have yet to dye any wool.  I also finished one of the fingerless gloves for our postman.  Just cast on the second tonight and hopefully, I'll have it completed soon.  I'm a little bored with ribbing.

And this is why I have not yet learned how to knit or crochet.  It's a long-term goal, and a few years ago I bought books and yarn for projects.  But found I couldn't teach myself, and have since sent my yarn to a friend to make my projects FOR me.

I'm hoping that if I get "enough" of my sewing/quilting/embroidery done to feel comfortable with it, I can take some classes on knitting and add that to my stash-creating repertoire.  But I've GOT to finish more of my other projects to justify it!!  wink1.gif

OK, I have finished 6 dishcloths and started the seventh. And, I just made two diapers! So, I say my count is at 2/52!

Got DD1's doll done now! 2/52.. Im so glad they are done and my girls are very anxious to have their dollies but I told them they had to wait. I don't want the novality to wear off before the baby comes so Im giving the dolls to them at the hospital.. I actually told my oldest she has to trade me food for a doll when I have the baby lol.gif She thinks its great Im giving her a "to do after brother" comes list, so far she needs to: pick up a special gift for him, pick up mommy some food, help Daddy pick up a cake, put up the banner and make sure they both have their big sister outfits on before they get to the hospital. Hehehe I know if I tell her she needs to pick up food before coming to see us than Ill actually get some food to eat. Im not necessarily the biggest fan of hospital food so a real meal will be needed.

Up next is clothing for me: red dress, purple skirt, purple shirt, flower skirt and red shirt. See how long it takes me to make these and Ill go from there.

If it makes you feel any better only reason the dolls got done is I could do them while I watched a TV season my husband had gotten for me.. I spent all day yesterday watching it because I couldn't find a good stopping point. bag.gif Finished the whole season hide.gif

Woot! Still working on my felt emboidered birthday banner for my son, but i got a huge project tackled: going through the pre-pregnancy clothes, deciding what to keep (to hopefully fit into after some working out), what to donate, what to use for craft projects. All put away!

I also went to the Y and got reduced fee applications, which was on my list of things to do.

I also took the vacuum in for repair (but now the house is dirty, blerg!)

3/52 complete!

It's difficult to self-photograph fingerless gloves in action!

I soooo lurked last year!!!

I would like to join this year :)

I def do not have a fabric stash...we are low income, but I do not throw out anything...I am trying to upcycle as much as possible.

I made ds and dh matching pj's....I chopped up the top to dh's pjs and made them into pants for ds (wingged 'em) and used the left overs to make tie appliques onto t-shirts that they already have.  the jammies had belonged to my dh's dad when he lived in the senior's home so there is a sentimental attachment to them- and ds was over the moon to be matching dad!!!match pj.jpg

these won't count toward this year, but if I could only make my family that happy by making stuf WHOO HOOO!!!

I made my son a pair of boxer briefs from this tut : http://nancyscouture.blogspot.com/2010/03/t-shirt-trunks.html  he loves them!!!

so my first project for this year is to sew the 10 pair that I cut out yesturday :)

I am 2/52!  I just finished my shawl edging- it somehow turned out perfect!  And I learned a great new skill I will use alot I think!  I even have it blocked and drying!

I am trying to finish up DS's other mitten today so I can get them felting with DHs work clothes (can't waste a load!)

And a project to add is hanging up pictures in our bedroom- a project that has been on my todo list for 7 months since we moved.  I hung up 2 things yesterday- so I am making some progess- I don't know why it is so hard for me to get that done.
