bump on toddler's neck

My 21 month old has a bump on the side of his neck, not visible unless your feeling it.  It feels like a swollen gland, but I've never felt on in that location before.  It's about halfway down his neck, right on the side, and is very moveable.  Is it possible to have a gland there?  Or should we go to the dr?  (Our doctor is right on our block and low intervention, so that's an easy trip if needed).  My MIL is a nurse and is watching him NYE, so I guess I could just get her opinion.Just wanted to see if anyone else has felt a bump.gland there.

My DS has allergies and usually has a swollen gland in his neck. It feels a bit like a pea and also "moves".

I have our chiro keep an eye on it. I would ask your MIL in to feel it and see what she says. Has your child been ill lately or does he have allergies?

Sounds like a swollen lymph node to me. My kids have had them over the years as well.
