Talk to me about isolated soy

DS is allergic to soy (along with dairy and tomatoes), I've been told that people that are allergic to soy are allergic to whole soy not isolated soy.  Is there any truth to this?  I ask because my vitamin has isolated soy protein and it doesn't have the "contains soy" warning on it. I also wonder about it for protein shakes (if I can find one without caseins in it).  Any help/thoughts are much appreciated.

Protein is the part of the food people are usually allergic to, if you're talking "true" (IgE) allergies.  Sometimes vitamins use soy derivatives, which are highly processed... and some people can tolerate that.  But definitely not all.

I'm new to the allergy world, so I don't know if its an IgE allergy, I just know that if I drink soy milk, he's miserable and has bloody, mucousy poop; same with milk products and tomatoes.  I'm working on educating myself further about allergies and the lingo.

My son cannot have any soy.  I am pretty new to this so I don't know if he has a true "allergy" or not, but he has a reaction (eczema) to all types of soy, including the soy present in my vitamins.  I've been told that it is more common to just be allergic to soy proteins and to be able to tolerate things like soy lecithin, but we can't eat any of it at our house.
