Kieran Michael was born at 1:19am December 29 after less than 30 minutes of labor, about 10 minutes after we called the midwives!

I had two bearable contractions, two pretty freaking bad contractions, two TERRIFYING contractions where I thought I was going to pass out or not be able to make it through my labor, and one that felt like the entire world was ending, and then my son came out in two pushes and all was right again. :) His dad caught him.

IDK if all of that miserable prodromal labor I had helped or not, but it was a surreal experience to say the least. I didn't get my water birth- the tub could have been inflated and waiting with warm water in it and there's still no way I would have made it down the hallway to the living room. We barely made it to the bathroom! My husband was utterly dumbfounded by the speed at which my labor unfolded, but he was a champ and kept me calm, did a great job catching the baby, and stayed on the phone with the midwife.

The baby is beautiful and already nursing like a pro!

sounds awesome!!! I am so envious of you fast laboring mamas! I thought for sure that by the third birth, my labors would be quicker but alas...mine get LONGER!!! Congrats to you mama for your awesome UC! The most amazing experience in the world IMO! Rest up and enjoy your sweet little one! (which happened to be born about the same time as mine :) ) YAAAY! I'm sure that you're still on cloud 9!!

DDCC  Congratulations!  So fast!!

Wow, this DDC is FULL of fast birthing mamas!  My last was 5 1/2 from water breaking to baby in arms (less than hour though from 5cm to baby in arms), and we keep joking we'll end up with DH catching the baby... I'm not joking so much about it anymore after seeing so many stories on this board...

Sounds a lot like my birth. I woke up and had a couple bearable contractions, then a couple VERY painful ones, and then I was in transition. My MW came and I was waiting to push. I didn't get to use my birth tub either but I am glad I had such a fast, easy labor!
