My baby girl was born Christmas morning. We left the hospital the next day. My ped is on vacation and had one dr cover her hospital visits and a different one cover her office. The one that saw us at the hospital commented that her color was great and never suggested a bilirubin check. 2 days after we got out they wanted to see us at the office. I only went because I wanted to be considered a good parent in the drs eyes. I'm not vaxing and the normal dr is ok with that. So my milk started coming in about 12 hours before the appt. She nurses great. Sleeps for about 3-4 hours between feedings then cluster feeds for an hour and sleeps for 3-4 hours again. I noticed about the time my milk came in that she has a slight olive tint to her face. Well when we went to the dr he wanted to check her bilirubin since she was slightly jaundiced. It was at a 10. The office called and told me the results and said the dr wanted me to get them checked 2 days later.Â

I don't feel there is a need. After reading about it I started waking her every 2 hours in the day to nurse. She is having plenty of wet dipes and at least 2 dirty a day. The color has not gotten worse. I feel if we are going to test again I feel we should wait longer. No need to keep exposing her to all the sick people at the hospital lab.

Am I wrong to feel this way. I think I'm going to call and say I don't have a ride (hubby would have to go in late to work) as the hospital disharge papers said not to drive for 2 weeks.
