Baby name help

We're trying to decide between Eli (Elijah) West and Alex West. We like them both so are looking for some impartial opinions. Thanks!

I like Alex West. I go for A names, so I might be partial. But I hear a lot of Elijah's and have never been very fond of it.

I love Eli but I'm not too fond of Alex, likely due to an acquaintance I know with that name though.  I don't know of any Elijah's IRL even though it seems a little more common online.

I think Eli West sounds more pleasing to the ear.  Or at least my ear.

I think either would be fine (I would not use Alex just because I have too many friends named that), but if you go with Alex you should probably name him Alexander and call him by the nickname, otherwise he'll have to spend his whole life going "No, it's just Alex".
