Breastfeeding and eating

Can they both co-exist?

My 22 mos. ds Miles is still bf'ing like a champ. Nurses several times at night still. I am happy with him nursing as long as he's happy and he is.

My concern is that he barely eats any food. Breakfast can be several spoonfuls of oatmeal or 3 bites of pancakes. Lunch would be several slurps of noodles or bites of chicken cutlets. Dinner is maybe more of the same of the lunch leftovers.

Tonight Miles had nearly eaten an entire slice of pizza which is a minor miracle.

Is this typical of nursing toddlers? I should have preface this by telling you that Miles is a happy, inquisitive, vocal and smart skinny mini.

Thanks ladies.

Mary

Sounds normal to me!... My experience with my two kidos are more or less the same.Sometime they aet a  bunch, some days not. They were/are very vivid nurslings. I always try to offer nutricious dense foods. We're more or less in traditional Food diet as a family, so at home we keep offering a variety of food rich in proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, berries, etc. For ex. my toddler today eats eggs, bacon  and green smooties for breastfast, Light steamed broccoli with lots of butter & hemp milk for snack, luch was few bites of steak and wild rice , mid afternoon snack  was frozen berries smoothie and 2 sheets of nori and for dinner we have lettuce and avocado salad(EVO & ACV) with sardines. For the record, DS is 2 1/2 yo and nurse a little less as a newborn,LOL .He is a very active and fit kid.

Mine were like that but I didn't like it and chose to cut down on nursing to get more balance in our days.  I don't know that there is a wrong approach.  Just a preference.  I disliked nursing all the time and felt it would benefit us all to move on a bit.
