DD is 30 months and has always breastfed/coslept. Whenever she wakes up, I nurse her and she's instantly asleep again. For the past few nights, she has been waking up in the middle of the night crying and isn't even interested in nursing. Nothing will soothe her. I change her position, try to nurse, change her diaper, everything I can think of in my half-asleep state. It only lasts a few minutes but I'm just curious if anyone else has experience with this. Thanks!

When my DD was around 2 1/2, she would sometimes wake up at night and be very upset, and nothing I suggested would calm her down. It lasted a lot more than a few minutes - maybe 20-30 minutes for the worst episodes. It seemed like she was really awake and understood what I was saying, and she would respond to what I said (though mostly just by crying and saying "No!") But I was never completely sure she was actually all the way awake. I never did figure out what was causing it, but it probably only lasted for a few months, and then she was over it.
